Boots Strawberry & Yogurt Hand & Nail Cream

 Monday, October 31, 2011

Whee... another present from Tron's sister. :) This is the Boots Strawberry & Yogurt Hand & Nail cream, and costs about THB100. I'm always on a lookout for good hand cream because my hand is in disastrous condition! I have tonnes of hangnails, and I don't help things by constantly peeling the skin around my fingers. People think that I'm biting my fingernails, but how do I tell them that I'm actually biting off the bits of skin that are coming off?

It'll be like they thought you were a weirdo, and then they'll think you are a dirty weirdo. T_T

I quite like this hand cream because it smells very yummy. Really like strawberry yogurt, so it's a very comforting, sweet scent. The product encourages you to use "liberally", and when I do, you really feel like your hands are much softer, and more moisturised. And the effects last for quite a while! Of course, if you use a lot, you have to massage your hands a bit more to get everything absorbed in, but it's no biggie. Personally, I do feel that it can be absorbed really quickly! Impressed!

"With natural extracts of Strawberry & Yogurt, Boots Hand & Nail Cream is specially formulated to replenish lost moisture to extra dry skin, leaving it feeling softer and more supple, whilst nourishing nails and cuticles." --- from the product label.

I've only been using it on and off for the past few weeks, but each time I use it, I really do feel a difference in my hands. The hangnails and bits of skin that I peel off heal better, and there will be less occurences of hangnails in the future. This is because the nail bed is sufficiently moisturised. So yes, when using hand cream, rub the cream into your nails and nail beds as well!!

For more tips on what to do to lessen your hangnails, click on this link.

I keep this hand cream in my office so that whenever I see it, I will be reminded to moisturise my hands. =) I think it's a good idea to keep one hand cream at the office and one at home! Just hope that your colleagues don't nick it!

Singapore Haul!

 Sunday, October 30, 2011

I just came back from Singapore 2.5 hours ago and here I am to share with you my haulllllls. Again, it's not much, but I think it's pretty darn good since I was only there for one night! We left Subang at 5:10am in the morning, reached Singapore by 9:30am! And we left Singapore at 9:30am today. Wooh. It's a real whirlwind of a trip! The main reason was for my boyfriend to pick-up this guitar that he bought from his friend. We are actually going there again in December, because THAT is when he was supposed to get the guitar. But his fingers were itching to hold it so badly that he just decided on this 24 hour trip! Of course I insisted to tag along!

There wasn't much time for shopping, but I managed to get the stuff that I wanted. This is what I bought :

My Watsons haul! I'm so glad that I took my time here because my boyfriend lied to me again as usual. He told me no need to buy so much because we can come back a zillion times over! But of course this was the one and only time that we were in Watsons - a quick stop before his friend (Jen) came to pick us up to bring us to NCC!

From top row to bottom, L-R :
a. Mr & Ms Dappy foot mask! I was interested in foot masks after seeing Cheesie's blog on the foot mask. This is a different brand, but I couldn't find the one she was advertising. There was also another brand available in Watsons, but they were both the same price, and somehow, I like the packaging for this one more! Hahahaha...
b. Love More masks. I was interested in the mask sets advertised on Xiaxue's blog, but just saw that it's only available from April - May. They don't even have that acne all out set that she advertised. But I got the 3D masks, cos I like the ones from Sophie Monk too!
c. Essensual hair serum, cos I like the hair mask one which really makes my hair oh-so-soft. Too bad that it don't smell too good. Hoping that this anti-frizz serum smells better, but performs just as well!
d. Clairol Herbal Essences with Camellia Hot Oil treatment! Someone commented on my entry that it's not available in US anymore, but they are (thankfully) still selling it in Singapore! SGD$7.50 for conditioner and same price for the shampoo. I shall be careful to only use this at home, cos the packaging is wonky and tends to leak when I cart it around in my gym bag!
e. Dermal masks - in-house Watsons brand. One is for SGD2, and if you buy 2, you get one free! A good deal that I couldn't say no to. I got the royal jelly, apple and kiwi collagen masks. =)
f. Angry Birds wet tissue in green tea scent! :P Just cos of the cute packaging. :P
g. Champagne Nail Cocktail from Beauty World. Costs SGD6.90, and it's to create a sort of gradient effect on your nails --- with glitter! I saw a similar one in Sasa (from Hello Kitty), and it was around RM35+, so this is cheaper!
h. Hello Kitty face scrub

In contrast, only managed to get the Biore marshmallow face wash from Guardian! I kinda regret buying it though, cos it says that this small bottle is only good for 150 pumps. Eh, that is quite little lah. If I wash my face twice a day, that means it will finish within 1.5 months time. In contrast, the tiny bottle of Organic Aid face wash I got from Yuberactive lasted me for 2.5 months. And this costs SGD$13.90. It better be like a miracle face wash kinda thing!!

Got this from Sephora, and it's impulse buys all the way! I kinda regret stepping into that shop, cos things are so pricey and they are ALL SO WELL PACKAGED that you'll definitely feel like buying everything! However, I am glad that the Urban Decay counter had run out of palettes, and they only had the anniversary palette there. Otherwise I would surely be tempted to buy something there too! I was also tempted by the OPI Muppets edition and the Serena Grand Slam edition.. when I really don't paint my nails that often! Just my gnarly toenails! Sighh..

Anyway, I got :
a. Burts Bees body wash in peppermint & rosemary
b. Fresh Sugar Lychee perfume (omg, it's SOOOOOOO good and refreshing! Its a unique and vibrant scent that instantly captured my heart. Tron was also going, "Eh, damn nice this Sugar Lychee... Buy la! Buy!")
c. Soap & Glory's Face Soap Clarity

And this is from H&M! I said I won't post pics of underwear, but I can't help posting this up because in my ASOS post, I said that there was the Vera Moda "Fuzzy Peach" lingerie set that was so nice, but they ran out of sizes? Well, I saw the replica in H&M, so I totally grabbed that! And I got more accessories (a hair flower, and two sets of earrings) and a new lace dress that I'm going to be wearing to my dad's staff's wedding. Hahaha.. so random. =)

Well, it was a pretty fruitful trip to Singapore, and at the rate I'm going, I'll probably have enough stuff to review til 2015... hopefully I won't be shopping as much in December! I just tell myself that this is just a special treat cos it is my birthday month. =p

Benefit's Get Gorgeous Holiday Products

 Saturday, October 29, 2011

BenefitCosmetics.com finally has the limited edition Benefit Christmas specials for sale on their site! They are already available in stores in Malaysia, but when I tried to make purchases online, they weren't there. Never fear, now you can get it with just a click of the mouse! My boyfriend's sister got me the "Ticket to Glossytown" lipshine set, and I think that it really is the best set from the Christmas specials. ;) This is what they have :

I'm Glam Therefore I am
Very seriously considered buying this just because I'm one greedy biatch! It consists of girl meets pearl, glamming face powder with powder brush, ultra shines lip shine, BADgal lash mascara, one eyeshadow palette and a double-ended sponge applicator. This pretty set is going for USD$36.

Brighter & Badder
USD$29 for eye bright instant eye brightener and a full size BADgal lash mascara.

Boxing Day Beauty
Wouldn't you love to find this in your stocking? ;) Going for USD$32, this set contains some kind-a gorgeous face powder, high beam (for highlighting), hoola (blusher) and BADgal lash. Again, another product that I did think of buying, but I reckon that I won't use high beam that often (don't know how to use it) and there are other box-o-powder's from Benefit that I prefer compared to Hoola. I think Hoola is more suitable for a tanned look, and that is definitely not what I'm going for. I prefer Sugarbomb or Bella Bamba.

Ticket to Glossytown
And this is what lucky me got for my birthday! Hahahaha! A set of 6 luscious lip shines in the following shades :
so frisk me (gilded berry)
nudie-tude (goldspun twist)
spiked punch (juicy coral)
life on the A list (bubblegum pink)
foxy lady (diamond rose)
kiss you (clear fuchsia)
Will do a separate review on these items!

As always, the packaging from Benefit is so irresistably cute that it makes you just want to go into BuyBuyBuy mode. Especially when they've even lowered international shipping to USD$90 to get free shipping. That's like.. 3 products or so! Currently on my Benefit wishlist?
~ Sugarbomb box of powder
~ Bella Bamba box of powder
~ the Porefessional (to reduce the appearance of pores)
~ Some Kinda Gorgeous (foundation faker)
~ Hello Flawless! (foundation)
~ BADgal kohl pencil

Did I tell you, my boyfriend got me my "That Gal!" refill as part of my birthday pressie? So I don't have to buy a new bottle myself! I really had a Benefit-filled birthday. :) So loved!

Coastal Scents Haul!!

 Friday, October 28, 2011

You may or may not have noticed my blogging about Coastal Scents sales? I have been monitoring the sales frequently ever since my friend Dull told me that the palettes become so much more affordable when she got a 15% discount that made shipping "practically free". I was so enthused when I managed to get a 35% discount! Isn't that even more amazing?

This is my haul :

Hugeeeee box! You know what? Coastal Scents labelled my products as weighing 3kg+. Ridiculous, when you see what I got.

I have to say that the packing is top class! They really make sure that your palettes come to you in one piece, with no spillage! :)

Taa-daaa!! I bought 2 88 Ultra Shimmer Palettes (one is a Christmas present for someone) and 1 Metal Mania Palette!

Close up of the 88 Ultra Shimmer Palette

Close up of the Metal Mania palette

Free sample of "Emerald Sapphire" eyeshadow... but as you can see, the whole thing leaked .. not exactly a very pleasant freebie to receive.

I'm really looking forward to reviewing the eyeshadow palettes properly, though I doubt I will really provide swatches of 88 colors. ~_~" Maybe just show some looks that I've been creating with the palettes? Have to admit that I've only used the Metal Mania palette so far and I'm AMAZED with the pigmentation. A little bit goes a long, long way and the colors are so freaking brilliant, even when I use my fingers and not a brush! Amazing quality!

The only thing that I have to complain about isn't even to do with Coastal Scents, but the fact that Malaysian customs charged me RM83 for "customs tax". WTF is that! And why so much? Do you know the actual cost of what I paid? I paid USD47 for the eyeshadow palettes and about USD20 for shipping. RM83 would be more than 50% of the price of the eyeshadows. I tried learning more about why I got taxed, and it seems like it's random, and there are cases where customs taxes you based on what they THINK it is worth, and not what you placed as its worth.

So freaking unfair. It really makes me afraid to buy stuff online. =( And if you suggest that I go and make a complaint to them --- I would have to go allll the way to KLIA to meet them. My friend said that she tried complaining before - when she got taxed for 2 DVD sets, and they just said that "memang ada tax" (there is always tax). This is untrue, cos I've been doing so much online shopping and this is the first time that I had to pay customs.

Arggghh!

Heads Up!

 Thursday, October 27, 2011

Heads up to girls looking for rocking party dresses.... ASOS.com is having a party dress sale, with max prices for the dresses going at £35.00. That would be approximately RM175 for a dress which is not bad considering that the shipping is FREE! During the weekend, they had the "BONUS10" discount coupon, where you will get an additional 10% off their sales items. It was insane! I couldn't resist myself and bought lots of stuff...

I bought stuff from ASOS Intimates (they have really cute lingerie!), and 3 dresses. Check out what I got :

The embellished fluted sleeve dress. This might seem plain to you, but trust me, I have a specific occassion in mind when I bought this. :)

I actually bought the blue color version of this dress, but I can't seem to find the picture of it now. Hmm... anyway, it looks so sweet and easy-breezy, so I thought that it would be delightful to wear this on lazy Sundays. (Plus it's loose fitting, which means I can pig out and bulges won't stick out everywhere lol lol.)

Just happened to like the color combination of this dress and thought it would be nice to wear to someone's wedding. Only problem is that no one has invited me yet. *twiddle thumbs*

Another simple dress that I thought would be nice for easy-breezy Sundays. Hehe. It's kinda cute, yet not toooooo youthful. Sigh, now at that age where you still wanna dress like you did when you're younger, but people would think you're a mother hen trying to be a spring chicken wtf.

Tailored, pleated skirt in orange. =)

Back to the lingerie... er, I'll feel odd if I show you what I bought, so let me just show you all the cute stuff they have that caught my eye, eh? Some MAY be what I actually bought, hehe.

I actually super love the "fuzzy peach" set from Vera Moda, but they ran out of sizes when I wanted to purchase!! ARggghhhHh! Too bad I don't have F cup boobs, otherwise I'm sure I would buy. Hahahah!

This is so ridiculously cute, but not very practical. I mean, you can't wear it under any skirt or pants because of the fluffed out bits. Probably can only wear it with jeans! Or a really puffy skirt. Still, it's soooooo cute!

Anything with mesh bits, I find really attractive. Cos it must be really comfortable right?

This is a Wonderbra lace & velvet thong! VELVET ON YOUR UNDIES! ZOMG!

Vera Moda again. I like the peek-a-boo concept, and the ribbon insert around the legs. Sexy, yet playful and cute. =) By the way, don't ever say you have no reason to wear cute underwear cos you have no one to show it to. You should treat YOURSELF to cute underwear!

Cute boxer-style undies from Princess Tam Tam.

A bra that I personally find ridiculous cos there's no way you can hide the fact that there's a giant bow on your chest. With all the cut-outs, I think this is more like something fancy you wanna wear to show your partner or something.. but it looks darn uncomfortable. Hmm.. just to show you when lingerie goes wrong (IMHO).

The reason why I decided to buy from ASOS is because VS doesn't offer free worldwide shipping, plain and simple. However, I might be pulling a VS haul soon cos I'm planning for a luxurious beach getaway next year and I wanna be decked out!~ *fatt hao* Heheh!

Gosh, can someone get married already or something so that I have somewhere to wear those dresses to?

Sophie Monk "May Beauty Be With You" Mask

 Wednesday, October 26, 2011

This is one of the more expensive face masks that I've ever used (RM6+) from Watsons... I admit, I bought it because I was totally drawn to the cute packaging! It's Sophie Monk's "May Beauty Be With You" face mask! There are 5 different types of masks, but I don't remember them all, hehe. Go check it out for yourself in Watsons! I got the green color one which is the pore minimising, double-lifting one.

The mask claims that it will help to "reduce the size of enlarged pores, regulate sebum secretion and help to firm & moisturise skin".

I think all the masks are supposed to have this "lifting" effect, as this is why the masks are more expensive than normal masks. To get a "lifting" effect, the masks come with extra straps that go UNDER your chin and are secured with YOUR EARS.

Some may like it because you really feel strapped it and things are defying gravity for a moment... but many others have complained because it makes the masks more cumbersome to use. Essence will get onto your hair, the mask may be TOO uncomfortable if you see your ears turning red, etc etc.

Personally? Yeah, I'm kinda anal-retentive about mask essence getting onto my hair, but I think it's a small price to pay because I really like the uplifting effect of the mask! Even if there was no "double lifting" effect, I also like the good quality of the face mask. It's made of more durable, stretchy material than normal masks. Ergonomically, it's also very well-designed.

Side view, so you can see how everything is well tucked away. Hahhaa!

However, in terms of the effectiveness in the "pore minimising" area... I would say that er... it doesn't really work? I don't really see a great difference in that area. However, it was definitely moisturising and firming, of course the effects don't last forever. But still, good mask to relax in if you want to indulge. No particular scent that I can remember, so that's no fun. Still, I may pick up another mask in the future, just to try out a different 'flavor'.

I was curious about "Sophie Monk Beauty", because the packaging features Japanese (??) girls, but Sophie Monk is an Australian singer, part of the band Bardot from yonks ago. Right? She looks something like this :

I'm not sure if she launched a beauty line, as I can't find any mention of it in her Wikipedia page... but it can't be merely a coincidence, right?

This Is Part One...

Part one of the BRAND NEW drugstore products that I own that I still haven't used! And some of them are still in their boxes + plastic wrap too!!

Just a glance over and I see stuff from Soap & Glory, Palmers, Vaseline, Johnsons & Johnsons, Renee Furturer, Body Shop, Boots, Lush... oh, and I'm really glad that I cleaned out my "products bin" because the way that I had been stacking them all up.. well, it pierced a hole in my Schwarzkopf hair repair serum. =__="

My Happiest Moment

 Tuesday, October 25, 2011

Trying my luck with this contest from Nuffnang. I reckon that even if I don't win, it's kinda therapeutic to think about what was the happiest moment in your life thus far, right?

Was it when I graduated? ((I didn't take any photos during my graduation, so scratch that.))
When I got married? Bore my first child? ((Er... am still single - darn it! If I had a kid I would have the most tender, tear-jerking photo available to win this contest!))
I don't have any romantic photos with my boyfriend - he has a tendency to look like a stoner when taking photos together, totally the anti-thesis of a happiest moment.

I also like how Nuffnang suggests that we "go out and snap a photo!" like happiest moments are just scattered around everywhere. *bitter* Sadly, I have no one to frolick around outside with nor a fantastic camera to capture those moments. Happy moments are fleeting, they pass by in the blink of an eye. How often do we have a camera on hand, what more a camera that would do justice to that moment? But then I remembered that there was one moment in time when I was really happy. And here is my "Happiest Moment" ...

To you, this would just look like a normal bunch of fitness freaks. Or maybe not even fitness freaks but people wearing gym clothes, lol. But in fact this was on the last day of our two day INSTRUCTOR TRAINING for "Body Attack". Body Attack is a group exercise class from Les Mills Australia which most consists of high intensity, high impact cardio exercises with emphasis on STRENGTH and STAMINA.

Basically, to me it's THE most hardcore group exercise class from Les Mills. And guess what? We had all graduated as trainees (which means that when the head instructor of our gym thinks we are ready to teach, we can teach classes on our own), hence the HAPPY faces in the picture above!

It was really a moment of glory for me because I am NOT a naturally athletic person. When I was in primary school, I was the only one in my year to FAIL my fitness test because I didn't bother to actually run during the 100m timings, and walked all the way. Hahhaa! For all the school's Larian Lebuhraya, you can be sure that I'm one of the last few trailing in, hours after the race had actually ended. I was the last to be chosen for any team sports and when I am in a team, people would never pass the ball to me because I would either fumble or throw the ball to an opposing team member. How could I ever be associated with a program that expounds qualities like strength, stamina, coordination, etc?

Pure practice, practice, practice. =) So this photo reminds me that with practice, you can get where you want to, even though you are not "naturally" something. A shy person can become an extrovert if they keep practicing talking to others. An uncoordinated person can become coordinated when they practice choreography again and again.

With my trusty fish pouch which I use to store my mp3 player. Cos basically we have to perform some pre-choreographed routines set to certain tracks.

Let you in on a private secret as well --- at the time that I was doing my training, I was actually going through a break-up of a pretty long relationship. I would advise people who are going through break-ups to do something productive, you will never know where it will lead you to! In addition to not only coming out stronger, gaining new experiences, making new friends and getting a new "skill"... I was also super toned & thin! This was when I was at my thinnest .. around 19% body fat. If you think that is high, check out this page ... it's considered the "athletic" level already. ;)

Embarking on the journey to do instructor training also had me learning more about the importance of weight training, training supplements, diet.. all which I had not bothered with before. I can say that although I weighed 50kg when I was doing my training, I looked wayyyyy thinner than when I was in my college days weighing 50kg. Cos I had more muscle, was more "compacted".

So how could I not rate this as my HAPPIEST moment? The only sad part about this entry would be that it reminds me that I became much busier at work 6 months after I got the training certificate and I couldn't continue training. I will use this entry to continue motivating myself to get back to the peak that I once was at...

*cue Rocky music in the background.... fades off as blog entry comes to an end*

Yuberactive Review : Max Factor Miracle Touch Creamy Blush in Soft Cardinal

 Sunday, October 23, 2011

Thanks to Yuberactive for the cream blusher from Max Factor! It is really a different type of blusher that I've not gotten a chance to use before. I've used to mineral powder blushers, normal powder blushers , liquid cheek tints... and now a cream blusher! I was expecting it to be like a powder blush, but it is more like a cheek tint to me.

Personal thoughts when using the blush? Well, you definitely don't use it OVER powder because you're going to have a hard time blending it. I like to use it just over a clean, moisturised face so that it gives a subtle glow. Because the packaging is so small and cute, you can keep it in your bag for easy touch-ups throughout the day. Again --- that's easy to do only if you don't wear foundation OVER the blush.

To use it, think of it like... a lip gloss. You swirl it with your fingers (yes, a brush is out of the question), quickly dab a bit on your cheeks and then continue to blend in with your fingers. I am used to using blushers like Benefit's Cha Cha Tint, so this was quite a familiar process for me. To ensure that the color distribution is done properly, I recommend making three "dots" on your cheeks like the picture below before you blend it in. Also, my personal "recipe" for using this is to give three "swirls" around the small container before applying on my face. One swirl is too light, and three swirls leaves just the right amount of color after blending everything out properly.

I like the blush because the Soft Cardinal shade is youthful and gives me a healthy glow. It's not something garish and I think it would be suitable for all age groups. The bad part is that because it is a bit "sticky" in texture, it requires some amount of tugging at my cheeks in order to blend it in properly. As I grow older, I get more anal about tugging at my skin that might result in wrinkles. Heh.

Plus, in the morning when I go to work, it's so much easier to just swipe on some powder blush with two flicks of my brush instead of messing around with my face with my fingers. I believe it was Natalie Portman who said that the best make-up advice she ever received was to keep her hands away from her face at all times. Hmm...

However, having said all that ... I find RM28 too pricey for a tiny bit of blusher. Still, a very interesting product. Think about it --- you can store a blusher in your handbag with no worries of spillage. You don't have to take any brush along (e.g: when you use mineral make-up blushers!). It's small, so it can be slipped in along with your lipstick!

Zest Body Wash - "Hint of Honey"

Unlike me, my boyfriend does not pack samples to use when travelling. Neither does he bring his own bottles of shampoo and bodywash. What he does is... he buys what he needs from the first drugstore he sees, and then he doesn't even bother to pack it back into his luggage. This means that whatever shampoo or bodywash he *does* use, he uses it indulgently. Super wasteful, and it makes my heart break.

I convinced him to get the Zest Body Wash in "Hint of Honey" for his shower gel as it was the best thing in Mannings (the HK version of Guardian). I've always wanted to try the Zest shower gel range because it looks soooo inviting. All in all, they have "Marathon", "Aqua Pure" and "Hint of Honey". I remember the Aqua Pure one smelling really good, and that's the one that I really wanted to try. But it costs about RM25, and that is super pricey for drugstore shower gel right? Usually for RM25, I can get 1 liter of shower gel! Hehehe. By the time I decided to get it, I noticed that they aren't selling it anymore in Malaysia... :( Well, at least the place where I saw used to stock it doesn't anymore. If you have any clue, give me a heads up!

They didn't have Aqua Pure in Mannings, and Marathon smells quite horrid (what you would smell like AFTER a marathon? I kid, not that bad), so we went with "Hint of Honey", which is really good! I super like this body wash!

The honey smell is not that subtle, but not overpowering either. Best of all, there's a bit of a minty feeling in the body wash as well. This leaves you feeling a little bit tingly and all fresh after your shower. Good for those people who fear that this honey body wash is a bit too feminine for them. No worries! The manly boyfriend definitely enjoyed using this.

In Lush's promo for their "Honey, I washed the kids" soap, they mentioned that it is rare for a company to put in REAL honey into their products, and I honestly cannot tell you whether there is any REAL honey in this body wash. Maybe you're wondering, what's the deal with honey anyway? This site tells us that "Honey's natural antioxidant and anti-microbial properties help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun's rays, supports the skin's ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin, leaving it feeling silky soft and supple. One of the most common natural skin care benefits with honey is related to treatment of minor acne."

A very good body wash, and a repurchase for me. If I can find it.
If you're wondering what happened to our body wash in HK... well, we left 1/3 at the end of 5 days, so that is how wasteful we were! I was afraid that my bag would be over the limit, so I didn't rescue the remainder, though now, I wish I had!!

Davidoff Cool Water Woman EDT

 Saturday, October 22, 2011

This was my go-to perfume when I was in Hong Kong. I always bring perfume samples when I'm travelling instead of my usual bottles. Saves luggage space + a great time to try something new - when you're also in a new land! Don't ask me what to do when the perfume turns out to be a stinker. Bring a few samples, I guess?

Actually, I quite regret bringing this for a few reasons :
a. this perfume is an EDT. Which means it's not as long lasting as an eau de parfum. If you're going to be out for long periods of time, it's better to bring an EDP
b. the perfume sample comes in a weird bottle which is NOT a spritz. You have to pull a little stick thing out and use it to apply on your wrists, etc. Since it's an EDT, this stick thing becomes totally ridiculous because it doesn't apply enough for you to SMELL anything at one go. I end up feeling like I'm pouring perfume on myself!

But I am very sure the actual bottle is not like that at all. I just want to rant about the way Davidoff packages their Cool Water Woman EDT samples, k? :P

The perfume is described as such :

"The first fresh aquatic fragrance born of nature's most shimmering, most luminous essences. The zesty freshness of blackcurrant and honeydew blend with aquatic florals to create this radiant, sensual scent."

That sounds really good on paper. I'm a fan of fruity scents, and I do like the Davidoff Cool Water for men. However, this scent falls kind of short for me. First of all, it fades of REALLY fast, even for an EDT. It's as if 10 minutes later, I don't even know whether I had sprayed any perfume on myself. Although it is pleasant enough.. it is also very unmemorable. Perhaps the perfume makers wanted it to be a sort-of, "Maybe she's born smelling like this? Maybe it's Davidoff!". Do. Not. Like.

I don't even find it that fruity or sensual. I kind of feel like ... it smells like a nice hotel lobby or something like that. You know? Something non-descript. It's definitely not a repurchase for me in the future, quite disappointed as I know many people who are fans of the male version. Maybe the EDP is better? I would have to check it out myself at the counter. But with so many other lovely perfumes out there... they should be coming to me, not vice versa. :P
