Another Beautiful Surprise! (Vanity Trove March Edition)

 Tuesday, March 5, 2013

So... I know I haven't been posting a lot here. To be honest, something has happened to me that makes me feel quite weak and lethargic at times. I don't really have time to take care of myself - I haven't given myself a mask in ages, and even applying body lotion becomes something that I skip. It's sacrilegous, I tell you. My skin is also in horrible condition - it's really not the time for me to slap on some make-up and camho and tell you what good products there are out there for you cos... I'm really not following my own advice and beauty regime.

* * * * * * *

In my last entry (also about Vanity Trove! Surprise!), I mentioned that I was wondering whether I should get their "Temptress" edition. Thanks to my condition, I didn't really have time to mull over this issue, and when I found out that the closing date for signing up had passed by, I just went "Oh well..." and looked forward to reading what other beauty bloggers would be getting. Surprisingly, towards the end of February, I started getting emails saying that I was getting ANOTHER free trove from them! Wow, thanks! I really didn't expect it at all! I was doubtful til I actually got it in my hands this evening. And again, it energised me enough to pop out another blog entry, hahaha. It was indeed a beautiful surprise.. thanks Vanity Trove!

As I've blogged about tantalisingly revealing the contents of the box, I shall skip on ahead to how the box for this month looks like right after unwrapping!

Total items in this round's haul are 5 items, and two vouchers. To be honest, the box looks kinda empty because all the samples this round are kinda small (compared to the February edition) - except for the face mask. However --- they heard our cries for "more make-up" and they have a collaboration with Kanebo this round! Two make-up related items from them! :)

Before I move on to a more specific description of each item (all untested as yet!), I will briefly talk on the vouchers. One is from Asian Potions  for a 10% discount on their full-size body lotion (valid til end April). They have a store in Publika, so it's gonna be super convenient for me if I choose to utilise the voucher. The other voucher is a 20% discount on all online purchases from www.ttmask.my. It is valid until the end of the year! Talk about a good deal. :)

As usual, I will just detail out the items listed in the product card for you all. :)

1. Orchid Extract Replenishing Mask from TTMask (RM10 per piece - one full sheet given in the box!)

"Excessively pampered with Orchid, Purple Peril and Chamomile extracts, the TT Orchid Extract Whitening Mask whitens, brightens and moisturises. Each sheet is stretchable and form-fitting, giving you perfect comfort and full coverage every application. There is even enough essence left in every packet to nourish your neck and body!"

My thoughts: This totally reminds me how I have not had my weekly mask indulgence in ages! I'm really looking forward to trying this out. It looks really luxe and I'm totally overdue for a mask session...

2. Sensiplus Hydrasilk Gel Tonic (RM138 for 140ml, sample given is 2ml) and Sensiplus Hydrasilk Day & Night Cream (RM188 for 50ml, sample given is 5ml)

"Here's something for ladies with sensitive skin! The Sensiplus Hydrasilk Gel Tonic works to soothe and moisturise one's delicate and irritated skin. Apply to your skin in the morning and evening after cleansing and gently massage in, folowed by the Hydrasilk Day & Night cream.

The Sensiplus Hydrasilk Day & Night Cream protects allergy-prone skin against environmental stressors and helps to relieve itching and irritation of skin. Armed with silk proteins, white tea and pure vegetable ingredients, this power-packed moisturising cream can be used round the clock for 24 hours."

My thoughts : Have not heard of this brand before, and don't really have a problem with sensitive skin... however, it looks quite "atas", so I think it's gonna be nice to use...

3. Bioessence Bird's Nest Bio-Energy Firm & Brighten Eye Cream

My thoughts: This item is not specified in the product card, so I don't have the advertiser's blurb on it. :) Instead, there was some description for Asian Potions body lotion, which I did not get. I'm not sure if it's a mistake or it's a "luck of the draw" kind of thing. Anyway, since I don't have the Asian Potions sample, kinda unlikely I'm going to use the voucher too...

As for this Bioessence sample, I like it! I like eye cream (anything that would help with dark circles / eye bags), plus it has bird's nest! Seems like bird's nest is appearing more and more in creams nowadays.

4. Kabebo Skin Fusing Powder Foundation (Casing with Sponge RM60, Foundation Refill RM140 for 10.5G. Sample given is 0.6G)

"The Skin Fusing Powder Foundation provides a natural coverage and ensures a shine-free appearance with its SPF 20 PA++ powder formula. Instead of staying as a thick layer of makeup, the foundation blends and melts into your skin when applied. This smoothens any uneven surfaces and gives you a dewy and radiant complexion!"

My thoughts : This really sounds promising, and after my short love affair with BB cream, seems like powder foundation is trying to win my allegiance back. ;) Plus, I've never tried anything from Kanebo before, and they are BIG. Oh, and I also got 2 sample sachets of smoothing make-up base (each sachet 1g), but there's no description for it, so I'm not sure how to use it. Er... just put it on before I use the powder?

All in all, an interesting trove as always, though the product card left me feeling confused. Still wishing for more full-size / deluxe-size items please. :) The April trove is up for sign-ups, and the theme this round is "The Shower Of Summer". Hmmm.. I smell something fruity and citrusy coming up! :)
