Forplay Catalogue

 Tuesday, August 30, 2011

Today I'm going to introduce to you a website that I stumbled upon "back in the day" when I was very into theme awards for my company's annual dinner. To win prizes, we always had to ensure that we dress not only in something outstanding & creative... it also had to be SEXY. I remember I wanted to go as a slutty version of Marie Antoinette one year, so I came upon Forplay, which had something right up my alley. Yeah, the costumes there are really nice, but it is kinda an "all-in-one" website that also has outfits, lingerie and other kinky stuff for sale. Though I didn't end up buying from the website, I like going back and seeing what clothes they have for sale. I have to say, the stuff are REALLY sexy IF you have the goods to show off. I find it super motivation to lose weight and stay toned if you own anything from that website. What do you think about the following outfits for clubbing?

The keywords for each piece are always : skin-tight, cleavage-revealing, cut-outs, butt-skimming, silky materials and eye-catching colors / prints. Honestly, though they classify the dresses as "clubbing" dresses, I don't see how I can be shaking my ass on the dancefloor in these dresses. I think it should be re-classified as gold-digging dresses. These would be the perfect thing to wear if you were a golddigger on the prowl. (Even then, remember Amelie in "Priceless"? What she wore seems more classy... this would be like a Vegas golddigger I think).

Cabana - Halter Mini Dress With Animal Print - USD$65
Fontaine - Cutout Dress With Solid Lining - USD$64

Crown - Sexy Clubwear Dress - USD$59
Colony - Sexy One Shoulder Dress - USD$64
Vanity - Classy Halter Dress - USD$65
Ozone Dress - USD$54
Industry - One Sleeve Mini Dress - USD$59

Primal - Sexy Tube Dress - USD$59
Untamed Bustier Dress - USD$54
Novak - Sleeveless Mini Clubwear Dress - USD$69
Bowie Dress -USD$18
Button Beauty Dress -USD$46
Citerna Dress -USD$20
Last time, they used to have a category called "dance outfits", but they have since removed it. Probably because they realised how unrealistic it was to wear stuff like these (see below) on the dancefloor. My friend quipped, "If you gals wear like this to Body Jam at the gym, all the straight guys will join the class too."

** I tell you, I really thought the last two were lingerie, but they were marked as dance outfits k! **

Calvin Klein Euphoria for Women

My boyfriend bought two huge bottles of Calvin Klein perfume and got a whole bunch of free samples for me to try out! One of them is a 1.2ml sample of Calvin Klein's Euphoria (for women).

I remember those CK Be and CK One days back from my teenhood... and now that Imma be all grown-up, no more CK for me but the full-fledge Calvin Klein label, please. *nonsense* This perfume's scent is described as "exotic fruits", "rich black orchid" and "sensual woods". The actual top notes, etc, are as follow :

Top notes: Pomegranate, Persimmon, Lush green accords
Middle notes: Black Orchid, Champaca flower
Base notes: Black violet, Liquid amber, Mahogany, Cream accords

The perfume smells freaking sexy, please. I love it! This is a definite repurchase for me (er... when I finish the Vera Wang, Chloe, DKNY, etc... crap! Too much perfume, but this one is irresistable). I love fruity scents, but this one isn't one of those light, summery type of perfumes. It's, for a lack of better word, really exotic smelling, just like what the product says. Also, because it's such a strong scent, it's somewhat masculine-ish... it makes me think of a strong, confident, BOLD woman. And that's really sexy. :)

I find it suitable for all occasions - not too strong that you can't wear it to work, perfect for romantic dates with your boyfriend... it's so suitable as a signature scent.

So this, and Burberry Brit Sheer is top on my "To buy" list at the moment. :D

Taut Gold Standard Collagen Infusion Mask

 Monday, August 29, 2011

So this is the mask that my boyfriend got from me when he purchased an excessive amount of products from GNC. He got two free samples - one was given to his mother and one to me. As mentioned in a previous entry, I had no idea that GNC sold beauty products! I only know it for the place to go to if you want protein powders, vitamins and other supplements. I guess they are trying to entice more females to go there...

Yeah, so I'm not really sure if you can get the Taut Gold Standard Collagen infusion mask anywhere else. But check it out in GNC. I have no idea how much it costs though. Anyway, this mask says that it will give you "firmer and visibly younger-looking skin in just 7-10 minutes!" and is all-round good for :
- firming
- hydrating
-brightening

I don't know about you, but I generally don't really like it when they say the mask is only used for a short while, because I love it when I can just relax with a mask on my face for 30 minutes. To me, mask is an indulgence, so why rush it in 10 minutes? I don't know, maybe for those people who are always on the go, this would be a good thing.

Some other stuff about the product :
"Taut Collagen Mask is a luxurious and high intensity facial mask that delivers visible results in just 7-10 minutes!

Achieving moist and radiant complexion has never been easier! This intensive treatment mask promotes collagen level for firmer, plumper skin and contains antioxidant ingredients to target dark spots and wrinkles, leaving you with a supple and glowing complexion.

Pure Goodness
Taut Collagen Mask is saturated with precious hydrolyzed collagen and other essences to firm, hydrate and brighten complexion for instant and long lasting results!

Squalene and Hyaluronic Acid promote skin rejuvenation and deep hydration from the deepest layers of the skin to dramatically revitalize chronically coarse and dry skin into a complexion that is velvety smooth and plumply hydrated.

Vitamin E provides superb antioxidant protection against free radical damage and also repairs sun-damaged skin and diminishes the appearance of brown and age spots, improving skin's clarity, tone and radiance.

Taut Collagen Mask is recommended for even the most sensitive skin type and especially for complexion with visible signs of ageing, dehydration and dullness."

They even teach you how to wear the mask! Hahaha.

Anyway, personally, I didn't like the smell of the mask. I would even say that it is unpleasant though bearable. There wasn't a lot of essence in the mask either, so the mask had trouble adhering closely to my face. I think there's something wrong with the ergonomics of the mask, it just doesn't look good. Hahaha.

My skin did feel "plumper" after the short mask session, but the effects were not long lasting. I was also going through a bad skin period, so I was hoping this could calm my skin down, but it didn't. Sigh... :(

To be fair, the product did say that you have to use this continuosly to see a change, but probably will not be a repurchase for me as I don't like the smell. I'm very picky about that! If you're interested, do check out Tautforskin.com.

Yuberactive Review : Rimmel 60 Seconds Nail Polish

 Sunday, August 28, 2011

Thanks to Yuberactive, I got the chance to review the Rimmel London 60 seconds nail polish! Have you tried requesting for reviews from Yuberactive? It's a great place to try new stuff, and if you like sharing your opinions on them, this is a great avenue for you.

As mentioned before, I don't usually use nail polishes, but I've taken a shine to them after reviewing a few of them on my blog. I like nail polishes that dry fast, so the 60 seconds to dry promise from Rimmel was great. It also claims that it has an eXpress brush that gives you 1 second application. Wow. Big claims indeed.

Yup - it's a pretty small bottle - only 8ml, and it comes in that poppy pinkish, coral shade that looks pretty loud. Gives a very summery kinda vibe. Think how good your toesies will look in this shade with those Havaianas on as you flip-flop along the beach... or in those boho leather thong sandals while you people-watch at a sidewalk cafe. Hmm.. I'm getting ahead of myself now. This shade is called 430 Coralicious - and as for the small size - I actually kinda like it! Cos for me, I prefer smaller bottles that won't cost as much (this one costs RM11.90!!), and so if you are spoiled for choices on what color to buy ... you can probably afford to try more, than if you bought 1 bottle of polish for RM20. Am I right or am I right!!

How did this nail polish perform? Well, first of all.. I really like the color. It's so vibrant and fun and ... I even wore it to work for an entire week, so it's not that crazy that you can't get away with it in open-toe shoes. :) For the application --- it was definitely not a 1 second application for me because I'm horribly clumsy at applying nail polish (give me time). The fat brush makes it faster for me, and less streaky. But still, definitely not 1 second! Hehe.

The color already looks really good after 1 application.

Yes, yes, please forgive the messiness.. and the bunions.

Did it dry in 60 seconds? Yes, I was surprised that it did. It didn't feel SUPER dry, because I was sneaky and to really test this product, I didn't even switch on the fan in my room. It was still dry enough for me to put on the second coat, as per my usual habit. I don't think it's really necessary as it looks kinda the same with an extra coat on. (Messier maybe, because of my skills.)

And... I'm glad to report that 1 week after application, my nails have not chipped!! (Maybe like 1%??). I'm really stoked cos I'm lazy as anything and I don't like the hassle of removing my nail polish and painting all 10 toes again, hahhaa.

Really love this nail polish.. and guess what? There are more colors for you to choose from. :)

Cha Cha Lips

 Saturday, August 27, 2011

This is a follow-up post to my post on Benefit's Cha Cha Tint. I mentioned that I didn't like using it as a lippy because my lips are generally way too dry for Cha Cha Tint, which has no moisturising qualities like a lip balm. I think your lips already have to be so moisturised and plump and juicy to wear Cha Cha Tint on its own, OR you have to layer over it with a lip balm.

Anyway, just to show you how the color is like on the lips :

Sorry for the messy everything else, but generally you swipe over the lower lip and smack your lips together to get even coverage. YES you will probably smear a little, so just quickly swipe it off. Using Benefit's Cha Cha Tint is actually pretty fast and nifty once you get the hang of it. ;) I'm actually interested to try Benetint and Posietint now.

And as you can see from the pictures, the color is actually quite a deep coral-pink.. I donno, maybe because I didn't layer on the Cha Cha Tint? (But that would be saying that my lips are naturally that lovely pink color...)

Someone on Benefit's Beauty Review said that it is a light mango scent... sorry.. I just took a deep whiff and chemicals were all that I smelled. ~_~"

The Spa Sample Series (7) : Le Masque Hazelia's Rose Hydro Whitening Renewal Facial Scrub Gel

 Friday, August 26, 2011

It's time for another Le Masque Hazelia outing! By the way, I am finally able to blog a bit more because my training at work has ended. Previously, I'd get home and still have to finish the exercises and test cases. Hallelujah, it's all over. I was also struck by this thought recently - if I keep looking forward to the weekends, that's only 2 days a week that I look forward to. Poor statistics... let's try to look forward to EVERY SINGLE DAY OF OUR LIFE.

**this message has been brought to you by Drug Store Beauty. Free of charge. ;) **

Anyway. Since I had time to thoroughly "enjoy" my experience with LMH, I picked out the Rose Hydro Whitening Renewal Facial Scrub Gel to wash my face after work today. One thing I have to say --- why does Le Masque Hazelia need such long and overtly descriptive names for their products? They seem to find no middle ground. It's either something long like this, or something like "Ultra Gel" that has me wondering what the heck is it for. My face? My body? My teeth?

Straight out from the packet, the facial gel actually smells quite good. Like, a very light rose scent. The gel is.. really like a gel, which I found weird for a face wash. I don't think I've actually ever used a sticky gel kinda face wash before. They are usually cream like... I think the closest I've used is my Simple face wash... but even that wasn't a sticky kinda gel like this one. Le Masque Hazelia is definitely pushing boundaries and innovations with this creation. Lol.

I don't know if you can see it, but the face gel is also a very light pink rose in color. In terms of looks, I would have to say this is pretty interesting. I was also curious -- why is this a scrub, but there are no exfoliating beads whatsoever? How is it going to "scrub" when they have nothing to scrub with? I was actually sorely disappointed by this.

As usual (for Le Masque Hazelia standards)... what smells ok from afar smells like a chemical factory on your face. I tell you... I nearly choked on the rose stench when I was ACTUALLY washing my face with this. ~_~ Why couldn't they have make it less .... odorific. Is this product actually for people who can't smell properly? So they have to make everything super strong?

Oh, and this gel was really weird. Like, once I rubbed it between my hands (trying to get a good lather), it started BALLING up. Then I realised that this was one of those "scrubs" which so-call ball the dirt on your face up. As you keep rubbing the gel on your face, you will see these little balls forming. However, I don't know if those balls are actually the dirt coming off your face or just the gel naturally turning into gel balls. Lol. I don't know how to explain this further, and the following pictures just don't show in full glory what this gel does :

The gel also leaves a rather strange sensation on my face and fingers. I really don't know how to explain it. Maybe.... why are my fingers all pruned up from washing my face with this gel? Maybe that's the strange sensation. I don't know. It's not like it didn't feel cleansed, (though I had the urge to wash my face again after using this) it just felt like something wasn't right...

Though not scandalously bad, and its weirdness intrigues me, I don't think I could bring myself to buy this and continuously use it over a period of time.

Johnson's Baby Powder - Nourishing with Milk

 Wednesday, August 24, 2011

I finished my other Johnson's Baby Powder - the one that claims to be able to help you sleep better. I couldn't find it in the store again, and I bought the Johnson's Baby Powder - nourishing with milk with vitamins A & E. Supposed to help give you soft and smooth skin. I suppose it will, as long as the powder is still lingering on your skin. Otherwise, since this item isn't getting absorbed into my skin, how will it improve skin condition?

To be honest, I was a bit doubtful over how "milk" would smell like in the baby powder. Would it literally be "milk powder"? HAHAHA. *lame* I don't wanna spread milk powder on my armpits, thank you. Anyway, it smells very normal. The normal comforting smell of Johnson's baby powder. But other than that, I don't see any extra special about it...

Still, will forever be an ardent supporter of Johnson's Baby Powders... :)

The Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer Palette that I have been lusting for is on sale!

The ironic thing is... with shipping for 1 palette alone, it already costs me USD19, which is the original price of the palette. -___- It actually made more sense for me to get the Combo 1 which is the 88 Shimmer palette and the metal mania palette. -___-" Though the shipping is still a killer, it would average out to a cheaper price per palette than buying the 88 Shimmer by itself.

Sigh... should I still get it? I guess I'll buy it for myself during my birthday month. :x

Just Here To Gloat...

 Saturday, August 20, 2011

No reviews because I'm going through a dry spell at the moment... but I will be having MORE stuff to review.. and free to boot! XD Thanks to Female magazine, I won a facial at Sothy's, and thanks to Cleo magazine, I won a skincare set from Skinz Infinite. Can't wait to try them out, especially since my skin is breaking out at the moment. I could blame it on Le Masque Hazelia, but I reckon it's just that it's approaching "that time of month". Sigh...

Montagne Jeunesse Spa Facial Face Tonic

 Friday, August 19, 2011

This is my first "paper mask" from Montagne Jeunesse which has featured on my blog multiple times by now. Been dying to pamper my face with paper mask for a while, and today I was so stressed + felt I am starting to break out, so what better time to do a mask eh? Especially one which claims to be an anti-stress mask that will calm and smooth your skin and uplift your spirit at the same time. Amazing!

First of all, I didn't like how it is packaged inside this packet. I didn't take a picture of the mask right out of the packet, but it was all rolled up and not folded nicely. It took some time for me to unfurl it, and I didn't like the idea of my grubby fingers all over the mask, and then the mask going on my face. Also, it left the mask all wrinkly. There's not a lot of essence on this mask as well, so it doesn't really stick right to your face. Anyway, you're only supposed to put it on your face for 5 minutes, so I suppose they don't want you sitting around with a sodding wet piece of paper on your face, waiting for it to dry?

I do think this bright blue mask is rather unique and novel, but as you can clearly see from the picture, it is not a good fit at all. As mentioned, there's not a lot of essence, so the mask can't stick directly to my face. I also find the nose area very weird... why leave a gaping hole there? My nose deserves to be stress-free as well, right? And this is not the problem of my flat Asian nose or whatever... you can see the model on the packaging also has her nose totally exposed. I find that weird.

On the other hand ... why is the mouth totally covered up? Yeah, it LOOKS like I can pull it out, but why isn't it a ready-cut hole like the eyeholes and the gaping NOSEhole. Lol. When I was doing the mask, I was too lazy to refer to the packet, so I decided to sit around looking like some pariah version of Deadpool. With glasses on. Anyway, I reckoned that if my nose couldn't become stress-free, maybe my lips could!

Aside from the bad fit of the mask, this mask actually had a very soothing fragrance, and felt minty, tingly on my skin. I don't see where the dead sea minerals come in, but my skin did feel nice, cooled down and less sensitive when I was finished with the mask. If only Montagne Jeunesse could come up with a better design for the face mask, I would consider buying this on a regular basis! It really does feel & smell that good! :)

The Spa Sample Series (6) : Le Masque Hazelia's Foot Massage Cream

 Thursday, August 18, 2011

There's just something about having a lack of things to review that will bring me to torture myself with Le Masque Hazelia stuff. ;) Anyway, I misread the packet and thought it was a foot SCRUB cream. Thinking I was due for a foot scrub anyway, why not use an LMH one even though I'm used to luxury like Lush. :P Clearly, my mistake --- it says foot MASSAGE cream. Slightly disappointed, but hey --- it's still a form of pampering the footsies, right?

This is how it looks like inside the packet --- I actually thought that it looks like marjerine. Do you agree? In fact, the texture and how it feels on my skin is also like marjerine. Hmmm... *suspicious*

It attempts to have a floral scent that I have to admit is one of the more "acceptable" smells from Le Masque Hazelia. It also smells really familiar... maybe some cheap spa had used this foot massage cream on me before! Grr.. anyway, it smoothens your feet and doesn't leave it feeling TOO oily (but of course slightly oily so you can rub your feet better). It actually DOES feel quite nice, so once again - an alright product from Le Masque Hazelia!! (My friend who reads my reviews says that it's so funny that as long as this product doesn't burn me, I seem to like it, lol).

Would I re-buy it? Well... no, because aside from the fact that this brand is really not very trustable, I think that foot massage creams should be used on a masseuse on me, not me on myself. ;) After all, it's all about pampering right? I wouldn't feel very pampered if I had to massage my own gnarly feet, that's for sure.

Oh, and guess what? The first LMH sample I got that is actually good for TWO usages. You really don't need a lot of this to get a good rub going on your feet. :) Maybe they could make it smell a bit nicer?

Sensodyne Repair & Protect Toothpaste

 Wednesday, August 17, 2011

My boyfriend is a firm believer in Sensodyne, and he believes I need it because I have a sensitive tooth at the upper left side of my jaw. In fact, this sensitive tooth was not there until a dentist claimed that there was a hole there and patched it. When it was just an unpatched hole, I didn't have a "sensitive tooth". Now I do. Thanks a lot, doc. Anyway, the boyfriend bought me two boxes of this :

Sensodyne Repair & Protect Toothpaste!

To be honest, I've just started using this toothpaste, and I reckon that I won't be able to see significant improvements in terms of tooth sensitivity til I've used it over a long period of time. My bf's mom has been using Sensodyne for a long time and she really believes it helps, so if you'd take her word for it, you should go get yourself the toothpaste if you're suffering from those sharp pains whenever you eat something cold.

But one thing I just HAVE to comment about this toothpaste is that it is strangely and surprisingly SUPER MINTY. I get that "chilly" feeling way more than when I use any other type of toothpaste! I don't get the "super cleaned" feeling I get with Theramed or with Denblan... otherwise this could just be the perfect toothpaste...

Yuberactive Review : Montagne Jeunesse Strawberry Souffle Mask

 Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Thanks to Yuberactive, I managed to score a Montagne Jeunesse Strawberry Souffle Mask. Well, I've actually used this mask before and I'm a fan of MJ masks, so I knew I was in for a treat. ;)

MJ masks are different from other paper masks currently in fashion from Taiwan. It's not a paper mask but a cream-based mask that you can spread over your skin. You also only leave it on for a shorter period of time - only 15-20 minutes and you're good to go. Of course, it's more inconvenient compared to paper masks, which you can just peel off and discard. ;)

As always, I always feel that one MJ mask is good for TWO usages. I tried to be extra generous with the portions this time, but even though I felt like I had covered my entire face, there was STILL A LOT OF MASK LEFT IN THE PACKET. Yahoo for good savings? It's only RM5.90 per pack, so it works out to be about RM2.95 per usage only!

One thing I LOVE about the Strawberry Souffle mask is how YUMMY it smells. It really, really smells GOOD! It smells so good that I have to resist the temptation to lick the mask to see if it tastes as sweet as it smells. =p The mask also contains bits and pieces of exfoliating beads (and if it really is made of pulped strawberries as what the mask claims, then I suppose it is strawberry pips?), which you can use to gently exfoliate your skin when you wash the mask off. Super two-in-one benefits. :)

After 20 minutes --- you can see that the mask has "tightened up" in some areas, but you cannot peel it off. Please use water and wash the mask off gently.

The main objective of this mask is to moisturise and purify your skin, which is what I feel that it did do --- my skin definitely felt smoother, plumper and softer to the touch. =) Love the lingering strawberry scent on my face as well.

In conclusion, it's a steal at RM5.90, totally worth your money cos it WORKS and you will most definitely enjoy using it as well. Can't wait to use my remainding half packet. ;)
